Hello, I'm Cory A Bradford. Film school student, writer, comedian and a pretty good judge of the artistic value of most things. Today I will be sharing with you all a list of films that have won the Academy Award for Best Picture from 1960 to 2010. And next to that list I will put a film nominated for Best Picture that year that I personally think should have won the award instead. If I feel like the Academy got it right I will put "Right Choice" next to the winner. For the sake of this blog the year will refer to the year the film was released, not that year's Academy Award ceremony. For example, 1960 will refer to the film that won the Best Picture award in early 1961.

* The film that should have won this year was 2001: A Space Odyssey but it was not nominated for best picture, although Stanley Kubrick was nominated for Best Director for the film and won a visual effects Oscar that year.
** Taxi Driver is a film that also should have won this year over the winner.
*** Although I think they got it right this year, There will be Blood would be an acceptable winner as well.
